The steps & how it works
Book your session
There are only a few things to consider and decide on as the initial step, the rest we will discuss together through our personal contact. First step is deciding on a package that suits your needs and wishes the most. If this feels difficult, you can always upgrade your package afterwards or alternatively purchase additional edits on top of your pre-selected package.
It is important to decide on a good location, as it plays a big role in the atmosphere of your final images. Beautiful places such as parks, the beach or the forest assure natural behavior and will enhance the beauty of your pet. An elderly or shy dog or cat will most likely feel more at ease in your own home, garden or surrounding area. This results in speaking images with sentimental values of your favorite places.
If you prefer a more timeless and clean look, then my home studio in Assen is always available for a variety of portraits. In addition it is a good alternative if the weather doesn’t play out as hoped.
If you feel uncertain of what to choose, or if you are looking for inspiration I recommend you to read this location guide.
More information about travel possibilities and travel fees can be read here.
Finalize the details
After the completion of your booking, together through our personal contact we will finalize details such as ideas and wishes, the exact date, location and time. One of the most important aspects when booking an outdoor session, is for you to know that the quality of light is vital in my photography. Because of this it has my preference to let the session take place in the last couple of hours before the sun sets. This ensures that the light is soft, vibrant and complementing and will give us the best and most flattering results. If the weather proves unsuitable, we will simply reschedule to another day at no extra charge.
In this step I will have an in depth conversation with you regarding your wishes for the session. You can tell me a little bit more about yourself and your pet, how you would like your pet to be portrayed, if there are any specifics needed to know regarding the location, if you wish to use any fun props or if you simply are after some very specific portraits/looks.
There is a lot to think about in preparation for the session. Ranging from clothing choices, accessories to bring (toys, treats, clothing rollers etc) to transport. To help you make the preparation less stressful I have put together in depth guides. I have a wide variety of topics covering anything you need from start to finish while hiring me. These guides are free to read or download. To view all my guides, click here
In addition to this, I have prepared a session checklist for you. This document contains the most common items my clients bring to a session, or ways in which they prepare. On the day of our session you can simply download this and tick items off as you prepare to meet me.
Enjoy your session
Before the session takes place, I will have answered all your potential questions and received all information necessary to make the session a success. Together with the help of the guides and checklist this assures that you will feel fully prepared and at ease.
For the day itself the most important tip is for you to just be your natural self. The more relaxed you are, the better your companion will respond, and the more you both will enjoy our session!
As the session progresses I will continuously work with you as the owner to achieve our results. I always have an open dialogue between us of what I am expecting of you, how you can help or what our specific situation may require. In this open dialogue I encourage your own input and ideas. I value your opinion and that our results speak to the vision and wishes you had on forehand. To reassure you of the outcome of our photos, I will throughout the day show you the photos from our session. When you want modifications or other ideas explored, this is always welcomed.
If possible, I highly recommend having a friend or family member you trust attend the session. It is very helpful to have a third person that can help out in assisting while working with animals.
Select your favorites
Shortly after your session you will receive all photos from our day in your own private online gallery. Your pre-selected package will allow you to select some favorites for free. How many depends on your package of choice. If you cannot limit your choices to what is included in your package, you can always purchase unlimited extra edits on top of your package through the gallery.
Once you have ordered your favorites, your photos are carefully and lovingly edited into works of art. This process is not rushed. I spend a great amount of time correcting and enhancing both colors and light, removing distracting elements and fine tuning every image individually to perfection.

Choose your prints
Hurray, the edited digital photos are ready!
Although we live in a digital area, the end goal for most of my clients is to showcase their new photos proudly across the walls of their homes. To assure your products are looking their best and having the quality of my digital delivery, printed products are only available and allowed through my services. In addition to visual quality control this is also to assure that you have a printed product that will last you a lifetime. I exclusively use professional photo labs for the printing of my photos and their quality assures that ink, papers and other materials lasts through the decades.
On the day of our session I will have brought with me samples of all the products I offer and showcase these to you. I will have educated you on material and product differences as well as supplying you with my printlist. There are absolutely no print packages that you are required to choose from and no minimum order requirements. Only the freedom to choose which products and photos you want printed.
When you have decided how you want to display your beautiful new photos, all products can be purchased directly through your private online gallery.
I am always available for consultation regarding your print purchases, whether this is to discuss the best location for a print, which material to opt for, decide on a hanging system or even which combination of photos would most complement each other. No matter at which step you would like consultation, never hesitate to contact me.
Let my in depth guides take all the stress away. These guides cover all topics, ranging from print products to clothing advice.View all guides

I am a pet photographer specialized in modern and artistic portraits. I primarily cater to animal lovers who value quality, personal service, extensive expertise and support – all while being my priority.
I invite you to read more about my values, and what makes me and my services unique in “why choose me”
Everyone can take pictures, and soon anyone can take a satisfying picture. Looking towards the future, photographers should not be vendors and clients cannot be just numbers anymore. The modern photographer has to deliver the whole experience. It will be about the art that is created, wholehearted service, personal connections and the stories experienced and told.
In the beginning of 2014 I purchased my first digital camera, with the intent of picking up my long lost hobby in photography. Having a curious nature I explored many different genres, but already early on pet-, portrait- and boudoir photography spoke to my creative soul. As requests increased photography quickly shifted from a hobby to a career path. By the end of 2014 I registered Azzeria Photography as a company and I have since been blessed to call this my job.
Being completely self taught has required discipline, devotion, a drive to grow and the desire to continuously develop my techniques. One of the biggest challenges in running my own company is the many different roles that I need to take on. It comes with the necessity of developing many diverse skill sets, outside of just photography and editing. A recent achievement I am proud of, is the creation of this website. To undertake all design, writing and content creation really took me out of my comfort zone and required creativity beyond what I am used to.
By the end of 2018 my health took a turn for the worse, leaving me unable to work for almost 2 years. This gave me the opportunity to re-evaluate my dreams and priorities, and with that I set a new direction for Azzeria. It took courage to dream of a company that focuses on pet photography, and bravery and sacrifice to make this a reality. Having chosen a primary speciality feels scary at times, but as the saying goes: ‘Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy.’
I feel enthusiastic about the future of Azzeria – The art that will be created, the stories experienced and told, the incredible animals met, and the personal connections made with my future clients.
My photography journey has brought me immense personal growth, and taught me to value the moments we have, and to appreciate what makes our lives. If you made it this far through my story then I bet you and I are much alike, and animals hold an irreplaceable part in our lives. I will pour my heart and soul into my time with you to create that artistic memento you are looking for. In return, I depend on your enthusiasm in my process and your appreciation for artistic photography.
Meet your photographer
Hello, my name is Ida Norberg
I always jokingly refer to myself as a polar bear, that is now a long way from home given my northic roots. I grew up in the north of Sweden (Lapland) to be precise. What I miss the most from my roots is the landscapes, the nature and its quietness, the snow and all activities snow brings to your life, and of course – the majestic northern lights.
I have always been of the belief that we must treat others with the same respect, love and care we would like to receive ourselves. In the same regard, I feel very strongly about how animals are treated and about their rights. The quote “You can judge a man’s true character by the way he treats his fellow animals” is as true for me as the quote “Judge a man not by how he treats his equals, but by how he treats his inferiors”.Read more
My youths creative & artistic background
I have always been drawn to all things creative and artistic. I grew up in a super remote village, where one of the few activities was Sunday gatherings for kids in the local chapel. There we would explore all type of crafts – everything from creating jewelry, paper / glitter & floral crafts to drawing and painting. During my early school years I found performing arts rather fun, especially musical theatre and dance. In later school years I took a wide range of creative classes. Ranging from wood classes, knife making, leatherwork and textile, to art and music.
I knew I had found my medium when I took my first photography class. I always secretly borrowed my mothers analog camera and I I would end up consuming all rolls of film by photographing everything around me (my favorite was the family dogs). In class I explored different genres of photography (portrait, pets, still life, street, architecture). Back then, I did not have a preference, instead I was just eager to photograph everything. The most thrilling in the experience was the moment you pressed the shutter – the anticipation of the shot that I had created, together with the dark room. I will never forget the feeling of finally being able to enter the dark room and develop the rolls of film. Not only to visually see your creation, but to be able to physically hold it in your hands. To this day, physical prints still touches my creative soul in a way nothing else can.
Always been surrounded by animals
Since the first day I was born, I have been surrounded by animals. My family had two hunting dogs (Norrbottenspets) that I loved dearly. Karo (the sweet guy in the picture) was part of our family prior to my birth, and was with us until I was 12 years old. The two dogs followed us everywhere – even up to our cabins in the mountains. I have strong memories of Karo sitting with me and my mother on the sley (connected to the snow scooter my father drove.) We would go fishing, drive to other towns or go up on the mountains like this. I used to love taking the dogs out together with me alone, wheter it was on ski’s, walking, hiking or on bike in the summer. My whole family and friends had their own animals (cats, horses, dogs, bunnies, chickens, sheeps). One of my nieces had an Icelandic horse I used to love riding on – even though it was temperimental and I often ended up falling off it haha. I would not have traded growing up surrounded by animals for anything. If I could change something looking back, I only wish I would have had more pets in my adolescence.
A love that is only growing
Although I have always loved animals, it is something that is continuously growing. I am excited when I imagine my life in another 10 or 20 years, to see where this love has taken me, and what it will have brought to my life. The biggest shift happened when I met my current partner, and cats was introduced to my life. Their playful and loving spirits has brought such tremendous joy to my life. This may be an classic opinion, but what I love the most about cats is their affection for you. The bond, their loyalness, their company and their expression- is not something that is taught, trained or commanded. Everything is always their own choice, and that makes receiving their love very special to me. I am today a proud cat mother of 2 very special cats, which I will introduce a bit below (feel free to skip if you are not interested, this is for whoever wants to know more about me and my life).
I have a lot of dreams of volunteering for different animal causes. The biggest dream of all, I will elaborate on in the business section below, but in short – I hope to be able to contribute to rescuing pets from shelters through my work. In a more short term manner, I am hoping I can start volunteering at a kinderboerderij. I have loved every minute of living next to one, and I would enjoy it very much to be surrounded by those animals on a daily basis. The older I get, the more I feel that if we appreciate something in life, we must do what we can to support and contribute to that very thing.
My two babies
As owner as pet they say, in which case he surely has taken after my hippie nature. He loves our second cat, and often puts his arm over Mtani’s shoulder and hugs him as he cleans him. He is very loving towards other animals too and has befriended every animal at the kinderboerderij - where the bunnies seems to be his spirit animals. Everyone passing by quickly becomes his friend too and he brings a smile to most people’s faces in this area. At times, the smiles comes from unique experiencces people witness me having with him. For instance - if I meet him outdoors with my bike and stop, he will instantly jump up on my bike and lay on my bike bag. I sometimes get to walk him home on the bike - he will balance on the saddle, with a very magestic and tall stance. That must be a one of a kind view I am sure.
He loves being outdoors and despite being over 10 years old, he has a lot of energy and is a fantastic hunter. At the same time, he is a true cuddle monster who requires a lot of love and attention. He loves laying in your lap, and nothing beats the massive smile you see on his face in cuddle sessions. I love seeing him happy - he has this special way of expressing a tremendous amount of peace and happiness. I feel like his true spirit is just to live life, enjoy, give a lot of love and to receive a lot of love. My little guy with a big heart heart
We learned that the sad story behind finding him there was that he had been abandoned outdoors. It warmed my heart to be able to take on an animal who had already been through so much, and give it the most loving home I could. For better and worse, I believe his story has laid the foundation for his personality. He has a fragile nature and is often startled by things in this world. His issues with trust can be seen in his reservation to strangers and unknown animals. Even for us, it took a lot of time with a lot of love and care to gain his trust.
He has since lived up to his African name - Mtani means close friend, and that he absolutely is! He is extremely attached to me and rarely leaves my side. Throughout the day he sleeps next to me (in his own bed on my working desk) and follows me around the house where ever I go. If I ever am away he will await my return outside. Many mornings I wake up with him against me, and he trusts me enough to be able to lay my arm around him and fall back asleep like that.
During the last couple of years I have been battling with illness and with that, depression. I always call him my emotional support animal, and that barely begins to express what he is to me. He is very observant of my mood, and if something is wrong he comes up to me mjewing (he rarely stops until I respond in a calm tone), lays with me or just stays close by until I feel better. This may sound strange to some - but I honestly do not know where I would be without him. He is my best friend, and the best emotional support one could have. I am extremely grateful to have experienced such unconditional love, both for, and from an animal in my lifetime. I cannot imagine a bond deeper than the one I have with him. Sometimes I feel as if because I devoted myself to creating peace, happiness and a safe life for him, he is repaying me with the same love and care.

Nature & Walks
I love quiet walks in nature, to observe and soak in all beauty and peace around me. It clears my mind, recharges me and tends to positively shift my perspective.
I like to keep active and to exercise. The gym is a vital part of my lifestyle (for mental health), but also to maintain my body to be able to do a physically demanding job.
I have been a vegtarian for 1.5 years, and I do not regret a day. I hope one day I can transition into being a vegan (about half way there at this moment, for which I am grateful and proud)
I love to travel and explore the world – its beautiful to experience new cultures. The wider our perspective is of the world, the fuller our lives are.
Listening to music & going to live concerts is one of my biggest passions. (aside from my work and animals) I could not imagine a life without constant music in it.
I am a huge fan of series. I prefer series over movies. I love deep and long story lines, and my favorite genre is crime shows (I am sure you know of some scandinavian shows?)
I have been a big sweet tooth all my life! I love sweets far too much for my own good – especially chocolate has a special place in my heart.
I have always enjoyed online games and to participate in competietive scenes. I love the challenge, to grow, push myself and to overcome obsticles along the way.
